The app

Information stored on your device

Breathe with Me stores app settings, customized breathing timings, reminder preferences, and completed-session history inside the app's protected local storage. This information is used to restore your preferences and show progress, weekly minutes, streaks, and recent sessions.

This information stays on your device. The app does not send it to Andreas Haag, Speecon, Apple, Google, audio providers, music providers, or any other third party.

Buying full access

Breathe with Me is free for four weeks. After that, a single payment unlocks it permanently. The purchase is made through Google Play, not through the app: Google Play collects and processes your payment details under Google's own privacy policy and terms, and we never see them. What the app receives back is a purchase record for this Google account, which it stores on your device so the unlock survives reinstalling or changing phones. Checking that record requires the Google Play app on your device; it does not require the Breathe with Me app to have internet access, and the app still requests none. Restoring a purchase works the same way. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy.

Information the app does not collect

• Name, email address, telephone number, or account identifiers.
• Device or advertising identifiers, analytics events, or third-party crash reports.
• Location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, HealthKit, Health Connect, or motion data.
• Breathing-session history, settings, reminders, or listening behavior.

Audio, music, and notifications

Voice guidance and music are bundled with the app and play locally. The app does not record audio or access the microphone. If you enable a reminder, the operating system requests notification permission and the reminder is scheduled locally on your device.

Sharing, retention, and deletion

The app shares no user data because it collects no user data. Local settings and practice history remain until you remove them using an available in-app control or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local data. On Android you can also clear the app's storage from system Settings without uninstalling. Notification permission can be withdrawn at any time in system Settings.

On Android. The Android app is distributed through Google Play as com.speecon.breathewithme. Everything above applies to it unchanged: no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server connection — the analytics described in section 02 belong to this website only and have no counterpart in the app. Two permissions exist for features you control: notifications, for the optional daily reminder, and vibration, for optional breathing cues. Both are optional, and breathing sessions work fully without them. Four further permissions are added by the Android scheduling library the reminder is built on — run at startup, prevent the device from sleeping, run a foreground service, and view network connections — so that a reminder you have scheduled survives a restart. The app also declares com.android.vending.BILLING, which lets it ask the Google Play app about purchases; this permission gives the app no network access of its own. The app does not request internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere; the connectivity permission lets that library read whether a network is available, not use one. If the app shows the native Google Play review dialog, that dialog is provided by Google Play and Speecon does not receive your review text or identity through it. Google Play and the Android operating system may independently process information under their own terms when providing installation, update, notification, or review services.

Website processing is separate from the app and does not change the app's App Store or Google Play privacy disclosures.

Hosting and security logs

When you request a page, our hosting infrastructure may process technical request data such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser information, and security events. This data is used to deliver and protect the website and is retained only as needed for operations, security, and legal obligations. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Anonymous website analytics with Umami

With your consent, we use a self-hosted Umami installation at stats.simpletool.pro to understand page visits, referrals, device categories, countries, breathing-session starts and completions, newsletter confirmations, and outbound app, music, or video clicks. For breathing practices, events can include the selected pattern, chosen duration, session status, and audio setting. We do not send names, email addresses, message content, advertising identifiers, or information entered into forms.

The analytics script is not requested and no analytics event is sent before you select “Allow analytics.” The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

Umami uses no analytics cookies and does not track visitors across websites. The IP address and browser user agent necessarily reach the self-hosted server when an analytics request is made. Umami uses them to determine coarse location and create a rotating, pseudonymous session hash; the raw IP address is not stored in the analytics database. Analytics records are retained for no longer than six months.

Email series

If you request the seven-day email series, your email address is sent to our email service provider, Brevo, to send a double-opt-in confirmation and the messages you requested. The address is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to limited records needed to honor an unsubscribe or meet legal obligations. You can unsubscribe from every message.

External media and services

YouTube players are not loaded until you choose to play a video. Music providers and LANDR are contacted only when you follow their links. Once loaded or opened, those services process information under their own privacy policies.

Cookies and local storage

The Breathe with Me website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. We store your analytics choice in your browser's local storage so the site can honor it on later visits. A third-party media service may use its own storage after you actively load its content.

Our social media channels

We publish our guided-breathing videos on YouTube and share short versions on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. This section describes those channels. It does not change anything about the app.

How we publish

We upload and schedule our own videos with software we operate ourselves, connected through each platform's official interface: the YouTube Data API, the Meta Graph API for our Facebook Page and Instagram profile, and the TikTok Content Posting API. These connections are used only to publish our own content to our own accounts and to read aggregate performance figures for our own videos, such as view counts. They are not used to read, collect, or store information about viewers, followers, commenters, or other users. The access credentials are stored only on our own infrastructure.

When you visit our channels

When you watch, like, comment on, share, or follow our content on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok, the platform processes your data under its own privacy policy. We can see what the platform shows publicly, such as public comments and usernames, and aggregated statistics that platforms provide to channel operators. The legal basis for operating these channels is our legitimate interest in presenting our content where people look for it, under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

For our Facebook Page and Instagram profile, Meta provides us with aggregated statistics ("Page Insights") compiled from how people interact with our Page. For that processing, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and we are joint controllers under Art. 26 GDPR on the basis of Meta's Page Insights Controller Addendum, in which Meta takes primary responsibility for the processing and for enabling you to exercise your rights.

Your choices and rights

You can disable app reminders in system Settings, remove local app data by deleting the app or clearing its storage on Android, decline to load third-party media, and unsubscribe from email at any time.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to receive data you provided in a portable format. You may also lodge a complaint with your competent data-protection authority.

Because the app has no account and sends us no app data, we cannot identify or retrieve an individual user's app settings or practice history.

Children

Breathe with Me is a general-wellbeing app. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Policy changes

If app or website privacy practices change, this policy will be updated. Changes affecting the app will also be reflected in App Store Connect and in the Google Play Data Safety declaration before the relevant version is released.
